Kick-off: Wednesday, July 27, 9:00 am -3:00 pm with virtual follow-ups 9/13; 11/15; 1/15, 4-5:30 pm
Developing community in the classroom is vital to co-creating equitable, robust, and safe learning spaces for students. To assist you in preparing for a new school year, we will learn about the power of story, all of our stories, from multiple disciplinary lenses, as we go on a short walking tour of DTLA, making local and global connections, and learning more about ourselves and the communities we serve. This day will be the first in a series that will explore: co-creating an engaging and respectful classroom environment, literacy strategies across the disciplines, developing assessments for learning and not just grading, and organizing your professional life so that you have a rich, joyful personal life. There will be 3 more opportunities throughout the year to share and learn from each other in communities of compassion and care. Participants will receive over $200 in teacher resources and $250 in gift cards for their full participation. Space is limited! Register before July 10:
