During an interactive professional development session, teachers will learn about California's land, people, and the processes of historical change that have shaped the state. We will provide each fourth grade teacher with 20 copies of the colorful student atlas, California: A Changing State (view online), as well as sample lessons, inquiry guides, and other resources. We will take time to explore this unique instructional resource that aligns with grade-level standards, supports the development of geographic knowledge and skills, and most importantly, engages students' curiosity and sense of exploration.
