This 3-day program is designed by FIRST to advance the understanding of Chinese history, culture, literature, art, music and the educational needs of Chinese students in the classroom. The program brings students, parents and teachers together to discuss how to maximize the education of all students.
CGEP will present this program in collaboration with the South Coast Chinese Cultural Center. (SCCCC) You will learn about the history and culture of Greater China and about the Chinese Americans who are immigrating in records numbers into Southern California. Learn about the needs and contributions of this population. Teachers receive a classroom library and lessons for teaching about Chinese culture. A $300 stipend for full participation is provided by the SCCCC. A banquet is provided to close the program on the final day.
